Is it possible for a muslim to be an Artist ? I'm in deeply dejected since i love to drawing?

Since Islam is a pile of 7th century made-up fairy stories why not just do passion by living without fear, safe in the knowledge there is no sky fairy watching you and tutting when you paint a picture.
